Baig told ANI, "The FIR was filled on August 3 in which four persons were named. Out of four, three were arrested on the same day itself and sent to jail."
"We started the investigation process thoroughly in which a few fresh names came to light. From those we have arrested two last night. They were involved in the conversion process. Their names are Sanaur and Wakil Ahmed belonging to Hapur District. Also, they will be produced before the magistrate today," he said.
"The investigation process is on and we are probing the case from all the angles. Also, the wife of the main culprit has been arrested. We have four teams working on it. We hope to catch the main culprit at the earliest," Baig added.
Meanwhile, JD (U) leader K C Tyagi demanded a CBI inquiry into this incident calling it a very worrying issue.
Rajendra Agarwal of the BJP also said, "We want UP Government to act swiftly. Not a Hindu-Muslim issue, trafficking must be probed."
A 20-year-old teacher of Hindi and English in the Sarawa village madrasa in Kharkhauda had claimed that she was gang- raped and forced to adopt the religion of a particular community and to change her name.
The woman reportedly managed to escape from the kidnappers on August 2. Afterwards, she contacted her family who rescued her. A complaint was also filed later with the police.
