German Chancellor Angela Merkel has accused Russia of "creating problems" for countries in eastern Europe, seeking closer ties with the European Union.
Merkel said in an interview that Russia was interfering in Moldova, Georgia and Ukraine in eastern Europe, reported the BBC.
She also pointed out to frozen conflicts in breakaway regions like Trans-Dniester, Abkhazia and South Ossetia and Russian activities in eastern Ukraine.
The common European response to Russia was right, said the German Chancellor.
Merkel accused Russia of making countries in the western Balkans economically and politically dependent on Russia in order to gain influence there.
