West Indies legend Michael Holding has branded his nation's loss to Ireland in their Cricket World Cup opener on Monday as a little bit pathetic.
The West Indies squad failed to defend a total of more than 300 and Holding claimed that it was a little bit pathetic to be honest, adding that he has been saying since this World Cup started that 300 on a good pitch here in New Zealand or Australia is just a par score, irrespective of who one is playing against.
Holding claimed that he does not understand how the West Indies could ever think that just over 300 runs would just automatically register a win for them, News.com.au reported.
Holding, who was regarded as one of the fastest bowlers to ever play Test cricket, said that they cannot take things for granted, adding that one should be able to think for themselves that it is OK that they got a reasonable score but they still have a fight on their hands and they still have to go out there and perform.
