American actor Michael Pena is all set to star as Mr. Roarke in the upcoming Hollywood movie 'Fantasy Island.'
Pena will star as the character made famous by Ricardo Montalban in Blumhouse's feature adaptation of the popular ABC TV series 'about a magical, wish-fulfilling island', reported The Hollywood Reporter.
The flick is being produced by Blumhouse and Sony Pictures.
Both these production houses will collaborate with filmmaker Jeff Wadlow for this movie, reported Variety. The movie is an adaptation of a television series of the same name, which ran between 1977 and 1984.
The story revolved around a mysterious overseas island where people are permitted to live out their wildest fantasies but, for a price. The series was based on dark and supernatural themes.
It ran for a whopping seven seasons, with 152 episodes.
Wadlow is directing and co-writing it with Chris Roach and Jillian Jacobs.
