MiG crashes in Barmer; pilot ejects safely

A MiG-21 aircraft of Indian Air Force crashed in Rajasthan's Barmer district today, but the pilot ejected safely.
According to television reports, the plane crashed near Sodiyar village, 40 km off Barmer at 9 a.m.
The aircraft took off from the Uttarlai Airbase in the western sector and was on a routine sortie.
A rescue mission was immediately launched from Jodhpur airbase.
