P. Chidambaram's mother passes away
Finance Minister P Chidambaram's mother Lakshmi Palaniappan passed away early this morning at her residence in Chennai.
She was 92 and is survived by two sons, P Lakshmanan and P Chidambaram and a daughter.
According to television reports, Lakshmi Palaniappan had been under medication for the past few weeks.
The funeral will be held at the Mylapore crematorium this evening.
