Helo, India's leading vernacular social media platform, witnessed overwhelming success this Diwali, thanks to its one-of-a-kind campaign.
The social media platform garnered over 270 million views nationwide during the festive season, with Diwali wishes featuring India's famous celebrities among the most consumed and shared content during this period. Many notable celebrities added to the festive cheer by sharing Diwali wishes to their fans on the Helo app.
Helo crossed more than 1 million downloads within the very first month of its India launch in June 2018, and has been consistently ranked among the top free apps on the Google Play Store. During the Diwali season, the app received over 120,000 entries specifically for Diwali blessings.
In celebration of the festival of lights, Helo also launched a lucky light-up draw, offering Rs. 300,000 worth in total prizes, including gift packages containing smartphones, cameras, TVs and much more. Users just needed to share wishes and videos with friends and family via the H5 campaign page, collect 10 light-ups from friends to join the lucky draw, with one winner, Raji Ramya (visit her profile), walking away with the grand prize. The campaign's H5 page received over 600,000 visits throughout this contest period.
Helo is available in India in 14 vernacular languages, including Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and more. The app enables one to make new friends, share jokes, tweets, memes, WhatsApp status updates, wishes, quotes, shayari and stay informed with the latest trending news and views of the day. The app's popularity lies in the fact that it allows users to better express themselves by communicating with their friends and family in their native language.
Powered by Artificial Intelligence technology and robust analytics, Helo offers relevant content recommendations that are customised as per every user's content consumption preferences and patterns. With its easy-to-use interface, Helo also offers content in a more compelling, visually immersive way. All of the content on Helo is uploaded and created by users, leveraging the app's embedded tool that allows users to upload and edit photos and videos seamlessly.
"By delivering personalized & localized vernacular content, Helo wants to reach out to an untapped market where a large part of India resides. We are committed to continuously bring value to our users by introducing exciting offers coinciding with important cultural & festival occasions such as Diwali, complementing the best-in-class product experience," said Shyamanga Barooah, Head of Operations, Helo. "On behalf of the Helo team, we want to thank everyone who took part in the Helo lucky draw and special congratulations to all the winners. We are looking forward to engaging more of our Indian users with our exclusive content and campaigns.
