Indian tennis ace Sania Mirza and her partner Martina Hingis cruised into the Italian Open semifinals with a straight set win over Julia Goerges and Silvia Soler-Espinosa in the women's doubles event in Rome.
The top-seeded duo overcame the German-Spanish duo of Goerges and Soler-Espinosa 6-4, 6-3 in a match that lasted one hour and 11 minutes.
The Indo-Swiss pair had won three back-to-back titles in Indian Wells, Miami and Charleston before hitting their first bump in the road at the start of the clay court season, losing early in both Stuttgart and Madrid.
The pair will next square off against fourth-seeded pair of Caroline Garcia and Katarina Srebotnik to book a place for the final showdown.
