The fourth and final installment of 'The Hunger Games' titled 'Mockingjay - Part 2' didn't manage to do much on the U.S. Box Office by earning only 104.3 million dollars on the weekend and became the lowest earned movie of the sci-fi series.
Jennifer Lawrence and Liam Hemsworth starrer movie, which had an estimated combined budget and P&A cost of 215 million dollars stateside, scooped only 47 million dollars on its opening day, whereas it was expected to make more equal to 'Mockingjay - Part 1', Deadline.com reported.
Though, foreign pre-sales on 'Mockingjay's second installment were higher than the first installment, and that number combined with a similar rental to 'MJ1's 162 million dollars would get 'MJ2' into the black during its theatrical release with a profit of 85 million dollars.
