MMA fighter War Machine wrote a letter to Mike Tyson on Twitter recently, claiming that he knows why the champ got his face tattooed.

The MMA fighter, who is currently in prison for attacking his porn star former girlfriend Christy Mack, wrote that he believed that Tyson hated himself, just like Machine, who had even smashed his own face, and hence had covered his face with tattoo, News.com.au reported.

Notably, Tyson had previously said in an interview that he initially wanted to get his while face to be covered in hearts tattoos as he found it cool and would be recognized as the 'Man with Hearts', but the tattooist advised against it, after which he got a tribal tattoo.

Machine, 33, tweeted to the former world heavyweight champion from prison that he could relate to the 48-year-old former boxer after reading his book, and asked Tyson to believe in himself for he was no longer "screwed," and find peace.
