Modi announces likely list of Cabinet Ministers with portfolios: TV Reports(Update/Re-issue with attribution to sources)

Television and other media reports on Monday said that senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley is likely to be given charge of Finance Ministry and additional charge of the Defense Ministry in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's cabinet.

The formal announcement of the ministries allotted to the different ministers has not yet been made by the President's secretariat.

The reports further stated that Sushma Swaraj might be given charge of the Ministry of External Affairs and BJP president Rajnath Singh charge of the Home Ministry.

According to the reports and sources, the likely list of Ministers with their expected portfolios is as follows:

Sushma Swaraj - expected to get Ministry of External Affairs

Ananth Kumar - expected to get Parliamentary Affairs + additional charge

Nitin Gadkari - expected to get Surface Transport Ministry and Shipping Ministry

Sadanand Gowda - expected to get Railways Ministry

Venkaiah Naidu - expected to get Urban Development Ministry

Ravi Shankar Prasad - expected to get Telecom Ministry, Law and Justice Ministry

Maneka Gandhi - expected to get Women and Child Development Ministry

Najma Heptullah - expected to get Ministry of Minorities

Smriti Irani - expected to get HRD Ministry

Radha Mohan Singh - expected to get Agriculture Ministry

Nirmala Sitharaman - expected to get MoS Commerce

Piyush Goel - expected to get MoS Power (Independent)

Prakash Javadekar - expected to get MoS Information and Broadcasting
