Owing to the festival of Makar Sakranti or the Kite Festival, the kite shop owners of Surat have come with kites having the pictures of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and USA President Barack Obama.
President Obama is scheduled to visit India on 26th January, 2015 as the Chief Guest.
The shop owner says that they are getting very good response for the Modi- Obama Kites. They have sold about ten thousand such kites by now.
"These kites with combined pictures of Modi and Obama send out a great message. For the whole country, it sends out the message of brotherhood. We hope to have good business terms with America," said a customer, Bhavesh Sisodiya.
"This year PM Modi's kites are in great demand. The customers are taking these kites by his name. By now I have sold ten thousand of these. As the demand is increasing, I am getting more orders," said Nilesh Mistry, a shop owner.
