Pakistan cricketer Mohammad Wasim has said that he is proud that his childhood dream of representing the country's cricket team is coming true but he is scared of the fact that someone who cheated with match fixing could replace him soon.
In a blog written on PakPassion.net, Wasim said that even he could take shortcuts like some players have resorted to, to be able to earn money but he would not.
He also blamed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for not being able to effectively handle the menaces of spot fixing and match fixing.
Wasim added that it is time for the PCB to take some strong measures rather than continue to be soft on such cases.
Wasim signalled his arrival into international cricket with a century on Test debut against New Zealand at just 19 years of age.
He played 18 matches between 1996 and 2000, scoring two centuries and two half-centuries with a top score of 192.
Wasim made his final international appearances against Sri Lanka in 2000 and a few years later decided to leave his home country and settle in New Zealand to play first-class cricket for Otago, who he represented for three seasons.
