Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief selector Moin Khan's unexpected word on the nations ODI captaincy has reportedly left skipper Misbah ul Haq in a tight spot again.
Khan reportedly hinted at the change of the ODI captain for Pakistan, which has left Haq feeling the heat yet again over the subject.
However, Khan, who holds the portfolio of team manager, would coordinate officially with Haq in the coming series and any controversy at this stage can duly affect the working relation between both of them, the Dawn reported.
Meanwhile Haq said that he can do nothing if the PCB does not want him to be the ODI captain.
An anonymous PCB official reportedly confirmed that although PCB chairman Najam Sethi, in the immediate aftermath of Khan's controversial statement on national ODI captaincy, reacted quickly to repeat his decision of retaining Haq as captain till the 2015 World Cup, the PCB boss did not seek any explanation from the former cricketer.
Another PCB official said that if he had been Haq, he would have preferred to leave captaincy as according to his observations there is a conspiracy coming up ahead, which may affect the Test and ODI skipper's performance to an extent which could even strike his respect and integrity.
Although sources have claimed that the PCB chairman had the privilege to appoint captain, it would not be easy for him to sustain the pressure of other stakeholders, the report added.
