A Russian radio presenter on Monday was seriously injured, after an intruder forced his way into the office of Russian radio station Ekho Moskvy and stabbed her in the neck.
32-year-old Tatyana Felgengauer has been hospitalised and various reports about her condition are doing the rounds in the Russian media.
According to TASS news agency, an unnamed hospital source said that the editor is in a grave condition.
Alexei Venediktov, the editor-in-chief of Ekho Moskvy, wrote on his Telegram channel that Felgenhauer had been taken to the operating room.
Meanwhile, Ekho Moskvy reported that the security apprehended the assailant and handed him over to the authorities.
The investigators have opened a criminal case into charges of attempted murder, while police named "personal enmity" as the leading cause of the attack, reported local media.
Ekho later named the alleged assailant as Boris Grits.
In the online footage of his police interrogation, Grits introduced himself and and said, "I've only known the victim telepathically for five years."
"I was motivated by the fact that she has been sexually harassing me for two months. Every night, using telepathic means of contact, she entered and sexually harassed me," he added in the interrogation, as quoted by local media.
The attack follows reports on state-run television earlier this month that Ekho Moskvy conspired with U.S. state-funded media to shape a pro-Western narrative ahead of the 2018 presidential elections.
Earlier this year, prominent Russian journalist and a regular contributor to Ekho Moskvy, Yulia Latynina fled Russia, following a series of attacks.
