A new study has revealed that sex with a loved one is most passionate at 10 pm after a storming row.

The poll by sex toy firm Lovehoney showed that two thirds of the survey people said that sex was best after 6pm, a fifth preferred it in morning, while 16 per cent liked an afternoon bonk, the Daily Star reported.

According to the survey, 62 per cent enjoy sex most when it is quick, that is not longer than 30 minutes, while for 41 per cent of couples sex is often improved by a row beforehand, with women liking make-up sex more than men.

However, 55 percent of couples chose the bedroom as their favourite location for passionate sex, followed by a hotel room, the sofa, and bath/shower or public place.

The survey revealed that the favourite activities to get in the mood for passionate sex are exchanging sexy emails, texts or sharing dirty talk either on the phone or in person, a romantic meal out followed by a reunion after a time apart, a deep meaningful conversation and sending intimate pictures.

Richard Longhurst, co-owner of Lovehoney, said that it was great that couples have their most passionate sex at 10pm with someone they love, but the challenge for couples is to do it more often at this optimum time.

Longhurst added that couples are usually so busy getting on with their lives that they often neglect what is really important - enjoying passionate sex with someone who is special.
