Sources have reportedly claimed that Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is determined to swoop away his former playmaker Sami Khedira from Real Madrid and bring the midfielder to the Premier League side.
Mourinho is reportedly a long-time admirer of Khedira and had signed the German in 2010 from VfB Stuttgart for a few of 10 million-pounds just two months after taking charge of Real.
According to the Daily Star, Chelsea are said to be closing in on the 36 million-pounds rated midfielder and speculations are that Khedira is keen on a move away from the Bernabeu.
This is not the first time that Khedira has been linked with a move to Chelsea as he had been certain to move to Stamford Bridge last summer until a long-term knee injury dashed his hopes of a transfer.
Khedira's injury has seen him dropping in Real Madrid's line up with the likes of Xabi Alonso and Luka Modric becoming firm favourites of boss Carlo Ancelotti, and now the German, who labeled himself 'one of Mourinho's disciples' is said to be keen to move to Chelsea, the report added.
