Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has reportedly revealed his fear that he was being forced out of the club and has said that the new boss David Moyes' influence on his signing the new contract was 'absolutely massive'.

Rooney admitted that there had been certain issues at the club last year that he was not happy about but refused to talk about them out of respect for the former United manager Sir Alex Ferguson as it was all in the 'past'.

According to the Mirror, the striker said that when Moyes took over he made it clear to him that he wanted to 'draw a line' under last season and the key thing was when Moyes assured Rooney that he had total belief in him.

Rooney also said that Moyes also told him things, which he did not 'want to hear', telling him that he had lost something from his game and that Rooney needed to get back to the 'basics' and reminded him about the player he was.

The United star added that Moyes wanted to know what had happened to all his aggression and told Rooney that he had lost something important from his game and the boss wanted it back.

Rooney also said that he wanted to clear that he has never asked the club for any inputs about transfers and to suggest otherwise is 'crazy', the report added.
