President Pranab Mukherjee has condoled the passing away of well known industrialist Russi Mody.
In a condolence message, the President has said, "An iconic figure and an eminent industrialist, Shri Mody was known for his vision, hard-work, determination and immense contribution to the Indian steel industry."
"His entrepreneurial abilities resulted in Tata Steel becoming a benchmark for the rest of Indian industry. For his exemplary contribution to Indian industry, he was honoured with the Padma Bhushan in 1989. In the passing away of Shri Mody, the nation has lost a stalwart whose human touch endeared him to all," he added.
Mody, former Chairman of Tata Steel, died at his home in Kolkata on May 16. He was 96.
