Criticizing the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Mulayam Singh Yadav on Wednesday blamed the two parties for the problems of poverty, inflation, unemployment and hunger that afflict our society.
"Whether it is the question of hunger, poverty, unemployment, inflation, who gave rise to these questions? The issues have been created by these two governments, whether it is the BJP government or the Congress government," said Yadav, while addressing a rally here.
Yadav also criticized BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, over his much touted Gujarat model of governance.
"He (Modi) has created such a model of Gujarat where claims are made but not implemented. When we talk of the prices of agricultural products, the cost of fertilisers is four percent more in Gujarat than in Uttar Pradesh," said Yadav.
