An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) of Islamabad has ordered that a judicial commission would visit Karachi to inspect a boat which was allegedly used in the 2008 Mumbai attacks.
After hearing the Mumbai attack case, an ATC Judge accepted a request filed by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to inspect the boat 'Alfoz' in Karachi, reports the Express Tribune.
The FIA had earlier requested the court to send a judicial commission to examine the boat as it was difficult to produce it before the court.
The commission would also record the statement of a witness, Munir, during its visit to Karachi.
The court's decision to inspect the boat in Karachi comes days after India asked Pakistan to expedite trial of the Mumbai terror attacks case.
Mumbai attack mastermind Lakhvi, Abdul Wajid, Mazhar Iqbal, Hamad Amin Sadiq, Shahid Jameel Riaz, Jamil Ahmed and Younis Anjum are accused of abetment to murder, planning and executing the Mumbai attack.
New Delhi has been urging Islamabad to complete the trial at the earliest. It has said that enough evidence has been shared with Islamabad to prosecute the accused.
The case has been going on in the country for more than six years.
On November 26, 2008, 10 Pakistani terrorist entered Mumbai from the Arabian sea front and went on a carnage killing and injuring a total of 466 people.
