Muzaffarnagar encounter: Wanted criminal Jaan Mohammad gunned down

Wanted criminal Jaan Mohammad, who had a bounty of Rs. 12,000 over his head, was gunned down in an encounter with the Muzaffarnagar Police, on a bypass near the Khatauli Police station area today.

Having sustained heavy injuries, Mohammad died on way to the hospital, while one of his aides escaped.

The police have recovered one Swift car, pistol, and cartridges.

The police personnel were also injured in the encounter, and are currently undergoing treatment at the district hospital.
