Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said that his upcoming visit to Ireland will focus on improving people-to-people contact and economic ties.
Modi, who will be the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Ireland after Jawaharlal Nehru in 1956, took to Twitter to share this information.
"My visit to Ireland, a first by a PM in almost 60 years, will focus on improving people-to-people & economic ties," he tweeted.
Prime Minister Modi said that his USA visit will build on the substantial ground covered during his visit last year and President Obama's visit to India earlier this year.
"In New York, I will take part in summits, bilateral meetings & meetings with top investors," he tweeted.
"My visit to West Coast will focus on start-ups, innovation & technology and how to further support them in India. Indian diaspora has been a source of immense strength for us. Will interact with Indian community in San Jose," he added.
Prime Minister will embark on an official visit to US next week.
He will visit New York City and the West Coast where he will join several programmes. He will be meeting top world leaders and leading American investors.
He will be interacting with the Indian community and will be visiting headquarters and facilities of leading global firms. This visit will seek to enhance trade ties between India and USA.
