The North Korean media has called for the implementation of the agreement signed between the United States and Pyongyang during the historic summit between United States President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
North Korean media hailed the summit which held in Singapore on June 12 and at the same time asked to implement the decisions taken in the agreement.
"It is our firm, unwavering position to open a new future for world peace and security," said Uriminzokkiri, a North Korean website.
"By faithfully implementing the joint statement that North Korea and the U.S. have announced, we will conscientiously fulfil our responsibility to address decades-long tensions and hostile relations, and open a new era of the North-U.S. cooperation," it added.
Another media outlet noted that North Korea-United States joint statement is the path to secure common interests of the peoples of the two countries, and peace, security and prosperity on the Korean Peninsula and in the world.
It is pertinent to mention that, the US is set to repatriate the remains of American troops killed during the 1950-53 Korean War.
As reported by the Yonhap news agency on Sunday, the repatriation process is a part of June 12 agreement, signed between Kim and Trump.
On Saturday, the US military moved 100 wooden "temporary transit cases" to the inter-Korean border to receive the remains of the soldiers. Separately, it has moved 158 metal coffins to Osan Air Base in Gyeonggi Province.
