Bharatiya Janata Party's state president Tapir Gao on Thursday said that it respects Supreme Court's decision, however, added that Nabam Tuki government needs to prove majority in the floor house before taking charge of the government.
"We respect, as a citizen of India, the Supreme Court's decision. There are various aspects in Law and whatever the demands Congress is making it cannot happen , but there needs to be a floor test and whoever has the Majority will be tested in the floor," Gao told ANI.
He further stated that it is up to Constitutional expert's to decide whether to dismiss Governor J.P. Rajkhowa not and cannot be decided on the whims of Congress party.
"It is up to constitutional experts whether to dismiss the Governor or not and cannot be done according to the demands of Congress. It will be done in accordance with Law," he said.
Nabam Tuki, on Wednesday assumed charge as the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh in Arunachal Bhavan at New Delhi.
Earlier today, a five-judge constitution bench pronounced the verdict on a bunch of petitions dealing with discretionary powers of the governor to summon or advance the assembly session.
Stating the governor's direction on conducting assembly proceedings is unconstitutional, the apex court set aside all steps and decision taken by the legislative assembly pursuant to the governor's December 9th last year order and said they are unsustainable.
Arunachal Pradesh had been under President's Rule since January 26.
Tuki-led Congress government was dismissed following days of turmoil after 21 of its 47 lawmakers rebelled against the chief minister.
