Fourteen-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal has slumped to number 10 in world rankings, his lowest for over a decade, following his quarter final defeat to Novak Djokovic in the French Open last week.

The defeat at the Roland Garros brought the Spaniard to his lowest rankings since he was 11th as a teenager in April 2005, the BBC has reported.

While beaten finalist Djokovic maintained his dominance at top of the table, Roger Federer and Andy Murray have held on to the second and third spots respectively.

Meanwhile, Stanislas Wawrinka climbed up to the fourth position after claiming his second Grand Slam major at this year's French Open.
