The Naga Students Union in Bengaluru recently organized a fresher's meet to welcome the new members in the community.

Around hundred people of the Naga community came together to celebrate the 46th edition of Naga fresher's meet in Bangalore.

Music, dance and fashion parade - the fun-filled affair was attended by many Naga and other students.

Young boys and girls walked down the ramp displaying colourful traditional attires of different Naga tribes.

Besides dance and songs, students also played some games during the event.

President of the Naga Students Union, Tali Moha, said that the event would help the new-comers to socialize with the other members of their state.

"Whoever is coming down to Bangalore just to welcome them, we organized this function. And we have introduced them about new city; what is good, what is not good and explain them the situation about the city and by celebrating , calling all the seniors , we make them chill with each other and that way we can get to know each other and build our unity in the union," Moha said.

Music bands like Floors and Gramaphones gave rocking performances at the event.

A standup comedy show was also performed by a young artist to lighten up the event.

Lika, a student, said that the event reminds them of their rich culture and heritage.

"It's very beautiful attending such event and it gives us a thrilled feeling. I really feel like home whenever I come and attend this kind of program because in city most of the time we don't get to see all this so we feel like home and it reminds us of our rich culture and heritage back home," said Lika.

"This kind of event is a very good platform for all of us to get to know each other, since we are away from home. Such events help us to connect with each other and get to know each other. So, in future if any problem happens also it helps us a lot," said another student, Niyang.

Such events help the locals to understand the rich cultural diversity of the northeast and helps promote national integration.
