Janata Dal(United) leader Pawan Verma on Saturday said that allegations made by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP and former home secretary R.K. Singh about money exchanging hands for assembly seats and contesting tickets was grave, and added that the people of Bihar were aware about it and would give a befitting reply to the NDA in the upcoming assembly polls.

"The allegations made by R.K. Singh are exceptionally grave. He has said that tickets are being sold, criminals have been given tickets. He has said that relatives have been given preferential treatment. This is visible and the people of Bihar are aware of this," Verma told ANI here.
"The BJP is doing this, as it knows, they are going to lose the elections and is willing to employ any means not fair, but foul, to win the election. The people of Bihar will give a befitting reply to this kind of party," he added.
"R.K. Singh is a senior member from the BJP in Bihar and he had the courage to speak the truth. The unfortunate thing is that nobody is willing to listen to the truth any more in the BJP either in Bihar or Delhi. Sushil Modi takes phone calls only from Amit Shah. Amit Shah has decided to win this election(Bihar polls) by hook or crook, or by any means," Verma added.
BJP MP from Arrah in Bihar, R.K Singh, had criticised his party for denying tickets to rightful candidates in the upcoming state assembly polls.
"Popular sitting MLAs are denied tickets and criminals are being given tickets. No wonder party workers are enraged in Bihar. What is the difference between you ( BJP) and Lalu Yadav if you give tickets to criminals?" Singh told ANI.
The former home secretary also accused his party(BJP) of allegedly accepting money over the distribution of the tickets in the upcoming polls.
Elections for the 243-member Bihar Assembly will be held in five phases between October 12 and November 5.The counting of votes will take place on November 8.The term of the current assembly expires on November 29.
