Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) seized a truck with over 74 kg of Charas from Nagrota here and arrested one person in this connection.
The Zonal Unit Jammu on Tuesday seized 47 packets of charas totalling 74.5 kgs concealed in 5 travel bags from a truck at Ban Toll Plaza, police said. The truck was headed to Mumbai from Anantnag.
On further investigations, two more residents of Anantnag were apprehended from Jammu Airport on Wednesday by NBC officials.
According to the Zonal Director, NCB, Jammu, this is the biggest seizure of charas this year by the NBC Zonal Unit, Jammu.
Further investigation to explore linkages of drug smuggling from the Kashmir valley with other states of India is under process, the NCB said.
