The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on Tuesday criticised Union Minister and BJP MP Ram Kripal Yadav's move to enter Patna's Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Airport through the exit gate and said that such incidents have a negative impact on the image of politicians.

"It doesn't look nice. Anyway, the people have wrong perception about politicians and when such an incident takes place, it has a negative impact on the image of politicians," said NCP leader Tariq Anwar.

"He should make sure that such incidents don't take place, because they affect the image of politicians especially being a minister," he added.

Yadav has, however, admitted that he made a mistake, but added that his intentions were not wrong.

"I had no wrong intentions. I was at the exit gate to receive someone. When I was asked to move to the entry gate, I did, there was no verbal spat, I didn't say a word," Yadav told ANI in Patna.

"Yes, I made a mistake. I shouldn't have gone to that gate, but I really didn't have any wrong intentions," he added.

The BJP MP was earlier caught on camera arguing with a woman inspector guarding the area that he should be allowed to use the wrong gate.

The inspector consulted her seniors on her walkie-talkie and then conveyed that her decision could not be changed.
