Announcing several schemes for the Amethi constituency of Uttar Pradesh, Union Minister for Human Resource Development Smriti Irani said that the NDA Government at the Centre has done more for the region than generations of the Congress's first family members.
The Union Minister paid premiums for one year on behalf of 25, 000 Below Poverty Line (BPL) families of Salone, Amethi, Gauriganj, Jagdishpur and Tiloi Vidhan Sabha constituencies for the Pradhanmantri Suraksha Bima Yojna.
Other initiatives aimed at the welfare of Amethi include the Ministry of Railways' approval for doubling the Unchahar-Amethi Railway line, a soil testing laboratory for farmers, a statue for a Kargil martyr and ambulance services for Haliyapur.
