The killing of a 16-year-old girl by National Democratic Front of Bodoland-Songbijit (NDFB-S) militants in Assam's Chirang District has triggered widespread protests.
The All Bodo Students Union and the All Assam Students Union held protest rallies to condemn the killing and asked the militant outfits to stop such atrocities.
The All Bodo Women's Welfare Federation along with the women's wing of the Bodoland people's front also staged protest march.
Priya Basumatary, a class X student of the Dwimuguri area in Chirang District, was dragged out of her home by heavily armed militants and shot dead.
She was suspected to be a police informer.
