Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal believes that the club lacks creativity and need attacking players like Christiano Ronaldo to compete with teams such as Chelsea, Manchester City, Real Madrid and Barcelona.
The Dutchman said that Ronaldo is a fantastic player and they need players like him, the BBC reported.
He added that Manchester United fans wanted them to compete and that's why they require more speed in front and also more creativity.
Ronaldo is just 10 goals behind Spanish striker Raul's record of 323 goals in 741 for the Bernabeu side.
Van Gaal on Sunday confirmed that winger Angel Di Maria, who has been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain did not catch his flight to the U.S. to join his teammates for the pre-season tour party.
He said that they need more speed and creativity at the front and that's why they need Di Maria to stay.
