Nepal PM returns after successful visit to China

Nepal Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli returned home on Sunday after a week-long official visit to China.

During his visit to China, both sides sealed ten separate agreements and MoUs on using the northern neighbour's sea port facility, building a regional international airport in Pokhara and exploring the possibilities of signing a bilateral free trade agreement, reports The Himalayan Times.

During his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Oli discussed matters relating to mutual interests and bilateral cooperation.

The duo also exchanged views on further consolidation of bilateral relations.

The Prime Minister also held bilateral official talks with his Chinese counterpart Li Keqiang during which the duo discussed matters of mutual interest and common concerns.

He also met Yu Zhengsheng, Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.

The Prime Minister addressed scholars, academics, business people and students at Renmin University on the theme of 'Nepal-China Relations in the context of Belt and Road Initiatives'.

The head of the government had addressed the Boao Forum for Asia on the theme 'Asia's New Future: New Dynamics, New Vision' at Boao, Hinnan province of China.

Oli also inspected earthquake reconstruction zone and a hydroelectricity project in Sichuan province.
