Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal will embark his three-day India visit from September 15-18, at the invitation Indian counterpart Narendra Modi.
Dahal's visit to India is the first bilateral visit abroad after assuming office for the second time on August 4.
A statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said Dahal, also known as Prachanda, will be accompanied by a high-level delegation.
During his visit here, Dahal would hold talks with Prime Minister Modi on September 16 and would call on President Pranab Mukherjee and other Indian ministers, the statement added.
His visit to India will provide an opportunity for both sides to discuss issues of mutual interest and concern, as well as seek ways to strengthen the age old, close and friendly ties between the two countries in diverse sectors, the statement said.
As Dahal visits India on Thursday, he has host of issues lined up to deal with, but cementing bilateral ties with New Delhi is high up in his agenda.
He has been warned by K.P. Sharma Oli, former Nepal prime minister and the Communist Party of Nepal-Unified Marxist-Leninist (CPN-UML) chairman against signing any agreement with India that could jeopardise country's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
