The filing of nominations by the political parties for the first phase of Nepal local polls slated for May 14 is over.
On Tuesday, the politicos filed the nominations for the 283 local levels in 35 districts, where the first phase of elections will be held.
Nepal's Election Commission has informed that the nominations were filed for 123 ward chiefs in four metropolitan cities, 19 ward chiefs for sub-metropolitan cities and 1,091 ward chiefs for municipalities.
The political parties also have filed the nominations for 1,365 ward chiefs for the rural municipalities. Also, they have filed 10,392 candidates, four in each for 2,598 wards of metropolis, sub-metropolis, municipalities and rural municipalities.
The districts, which will be going to polls in the first phase of election, have 49,59,925 voters.
