The new Saudi Arabian King Salman has pledged continuity following his accession to the throne after his half brother King Abdullah's death.

According to BBC, the new king appointed heirs and ministers including a prince form the third generation of the ruling party.

King Salman vowed to maintain the same policies as his predecessor hours after his accession to the throne.

King Abdullah died weeks after he was admitted to hospital due to a lung infection.

After the prayer on Friday, he was buried in an unmarked grave in Riyadh.
