New Zealand Cricket chairman Chris Moller has confirmed that he would not contest in a re-election during voting for a new board at the annual general meeting in September, making clear that he would quit his post.

According to Sky Sports, Moller clarified by saying that he was happy to move ahead of a hugely time-consuming role.

The report said that the cricket chief is also a former chairman of the New Zealand Rugby Union, and has been chairman for three years and a director for five years.

Moller was at the centre of a major controversy when the sacking of Ross Taylor as Test captain, even by the Board's own admission, was not handled well, the report added.
