The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has issued notices to the Union Ministry of Defence and SP of Budgam over killing of two youths in firing by Army in Kashmir.
They have called for reports within two weeks on the incident of firing by Army personnel resulting in killing of two youths and injury to two others in Chattergam area on the November 3.
The youths were traveling in a car and as claimed by the Army, they did not pay heed to signals to stop at the barriers set up by the security forces.
Meanwhile, defying curfew restrictions, people, mostly youths, took to streets and clashed with the security forces at Nowgam in Srinagar, protesting against the killing.
A complete bandh was observed in Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir Valley yesterday.
