Congress leader Rashid Alvi on Thursday stated that it is the prerogative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi whom he wants to induct as Defence Minister in his Cabinet, while reacting on reports about a possible Union Cabinet reshuffle that may see Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar getting that portfolio.
"This is Prime Minister's prerogative whom he appoints and no one should make any comment. However, the nation must get its Defence Minister," Alvi told ANI here.
Reports indicate that Prime Minister Modi is likely to expand his Cabinet before the winter session of Parliament and Parrikar's name is being mentioned for the defence portfolio. Presently Finance Minister Arun Jaitley holds the additional charge as Defence minister.
