After hand-picking, Nicki Minaj has announced the cast that is going to star in her new sitcom 'Nicki.'
The 33-year-old rapper announced in her Instagram post, "I am honored and excited to announced that I've literally hand picked the main characters of my scripted series, I've been going to the auditions falling in love with some incredible people. Looking forward to unveiling this groundbreaking new show for you guys in 2016!" E! Online reports.
Ariana Neal has been roped in to play young Nicki, while fashion model Selita Ebanks will play her mother, Grace, Wesley Jonathan will be seen playing the role of 'Fly' hit-maker's father in her sitcom.
In addition to this, Vincent, and McCarrie McCausland will play her older brother, Jaylen and Whoopi Goldberg will appear as a guest star as the family's neighbor.
The 'Anaconda' hit-maker said this will be one of the most unique adventures that she will ever embarked on, adding that she is very proud and excited to team with such amazing actors.
In a statement, the network said that the rapper's forthcoming sitcom will centre on her family's immigration from Trinidad and the personal and musical evolution that led to her eventual rise to stardom.
