Nitish highlights crime in BJP-ruled states, says stop indulging in false propaganda

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday hit back at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for describing his rule in the state as 'jungle raj' and highlighted the crime in the states of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Haryana and Maharashtra.

Nitish also accused the BJP of indulging in false propaganda to scare people before polls.

"They say there is jungle raj, what do they mean? Where is crime (in Bihar)? People of Bihar feel safe, no matter how much BJP tries to scare them.They indulge in false propaganda, they try to scare people. Home Ministry publishes a list of crimes per lakh of population for every state, in the latest report, Bihar is ranked 22 ," Nitish said at a rally here

"BJP ruled states of Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra are above Bihar in the list and they say that there is jungle raj here," he added.

He further said that crime is taking place right under the nose of Central Government in Delhi.

"The highest crime according to that list is in Delhi. The police in Delhi are under Central government and not under Arvind Kejriwal's government. So it means that crime is taking place right under their nose and they are saying that there is jungle raj in Bihar," Nitish said.
