The Aam Aadmi Party on Tuesday denied banning the media at the Delhi Secretariat, stating that there was a dedicated room for members of the press where they would be briefed by members of the state cabinet.
"We respect the media and there is a media room in the Delhi Secretariat, where all members of the press are welcome. If one wants to meet an official or a minister, one can always take an appointment," AAP leader Sanjay Singh told ANI.
Singh also echoed the views shared by fellow AAP leader Yogendra Yadav earlier in the day, with respect to BJP chief ministerial candidate Kiran Bedi, stating that the former IPS officer had been brought into the fold in desperation.
"There are many reasons why the BJP lost in Delhi. The language used by the campaigners for the BJP worked against their party, as well as the cartoons used by them alienated the masses. At the same time, the BJP projected Kiran Bedi as its chief ministerial candidate when they realised that its chances in the elections were slipping away: something that the public realised," he said.
Earlier, the AAP had come under attack from the press after mediapersons were allegedly prohibited from entering the Delhi Secretariat on Monday.
