The auction for one of Oskar Schindler's famed lists on eBay for a reserve price of a whopping 3 million dollars closed without receiving any bids due to the hefty price tag and some even questioning its authenticity.

According to ABC News, the 'Schindler's List' contains 801 male names and is dated April 8, 1945 and David Crowe, a Holocaust historian and the author of the book, 'Oskar Schindler: The Untold Account of His Life, Wartime Activities, and the True Story Behind the List' said that the date of the list may be one reason it did not receive any bids.

The 'list' was named for Schindler, a businessman from Germany who is credited with saving more than 1,000 Jewish refugees from the Nazis by deeming them essential workers for his enamel-works factories

Crowe said that this list was merely an update of the original list and is not worth the price tag and it is far less valuable as it charted the end of the war but not the beginning.

The list was also criticized for being fraudulent by director of the Historical Museum of Krakow, Michal Niezabitowski who said that it was a copy of the original and not worth millions, while Crowe said that he could not comment if it was original or a copy but nonetheless it cannot be that pricey.

'Schindler list's sellers Gary Zimet and Eric Gazin had hoped that it would fetch as high as 5 million dollars but the auction closed the evening of July 28 after being open for a little more than a week.

Gazin said that he has no plans to lower the price and it's a fair price given its history and its provenance, the report added.
