Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Venkaiah Naidu on Tuesday categorically stated that the government shall not make any changes to the Constitution.

Naidu was reacting to a query raised by Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia in the Lok Sabha, with regards to an advertisement printed by the government on Republic Day, which carried an older version of the Preamble, with the words 'secular' and socialist' missing.

In his reply, Naidu said that the image in question had inadvertently been used, and that care would be taken to correct the mistake in future.
