No more misunderstandings between India, Nepal: Oli

Visiting Nepalese Prime Minister K. P. Sharma Oli on Monday said misunderstandings between India and Nepal no longer persist.

Oli termed it as the most important outcome of his first visit to India after assuming office last October.

He made the remarks while delivering the 21st Sapru House Lecture at the Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA) here.

Oli said the main mission of his coming to India was to clear misunderstanding and apprehensions that surfaced in the past few months following the promulgation of the Constitution.

He said Nepal remains firm in its commitment to not allow its soil for any hostile activity directed towards India.

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj presided over the programme.

She praised the Nepalese political leadership for showing maturity and bringing the Constitution to life despite adverse circumstances following the devastating earthquake that ravaged parts of the Himalayan country and led to massive loss of life and property.
