The Shiv Sena on Saturday said that China has no reason to oppose Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Arunachal Pradesh and added that the latter should visit the border areas more often.
"It is our border, it is our country's territory; our Prime Minister can visit there. There is no reason for China to oppose this; they have these things in mind for the last 50 years. Our Prime Minister should keep making visits to the border areas," Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut told ANI here.
China had earlier opposed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Arunachal Pradesh, saying it will complicate ties with India.
Reiterating its stance on Arunachal Pradesh, China said it is 'opposed" to the Indian leaders' activities in the 'disputed area'.
Earlier on Friday, Prime Minister Modi flagged off the first express train from Naharlagun in Arunachal Pradesh to New Delhi.
