Afghanistan's Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Abdullah Abdullah has said there will be no secret deal made in the peace talks with the Taliban.
Abdullah made the statement on the occasion of the 21st death anniversary of Islamic Unity Party of Afghanistan leader Abdul Ali Mazari.
"I want to assure people that there will be no secret deal in peace talks and freedom of people and their achievements will be maintained," Tolo news quoted him as saying.
Abdullah hoped that peace efforts of the government would bring lasting peace to the country.
He applauded the bravery and sacrifices of Afghan troops in fighting the militants.
The second deputy of the CEO, Mohammad Mohaqiq, also stressed on peace talks with the Taliban and said if the talks fail then the people are ready to defend their country.
Mohaqiq stressed that the Afghan security forces should be equipped with modern weapons.
Afghanistan will hold peace talks with the Taliban in Pakistan this month.
