No set time limit given by CAG over audit of discoms: Satyendra Jain

Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain on Wednesday said Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) Shashi Kant Sharma has not given any time limit for the audit of private power distribution companies.

Jain, however, said the Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Government has extended full support to CAG over the matter.

"We have offered our support in every way. They said that they are doing the audit but they cannot give a time limit. The primary role in this matter is that of the CAG and they work in their own way. We have only referred to them and have extended our support," said Jain.

He further said that the government is preparing a power plan for Delhi to deal with issues of power cuts.

"We are preparing a new plan for Delhi and will try our best that there is no power issue in the city," said Jain.

Earlier in the day, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal met the CAG to assess the status of the audit of power companies ordered by his government during its previous stint.
