Patients can now access their medical records on devices like iPads and smart phones.
At the International Medical Hospital Show 2013 in Japan's Tokyo Big Sight, Fujitsu introduced a Mobile integrated EMR technology.
It will help patients to not only get medical treatment data but other information including accounting data, Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), medical examination data and waiting board sign in the hospital.
EMR was first introduced in Japan in 1999 and since then it has penetrated widely in hospitals across the country.
Fujitsu, a Japanese multinational information technology equipment and services company, also introduced "HumanBridge", a regional network solutions which enables to connect medical informations of health, medical and welfare.
In modern era, when hospitals globally are facing challenges in providing better treatment to elderly people, emergency medical care, shortage of doctors and nursing staff and other issues, introduction of modern healthcare technology will help them cope with the situation.
Fujitsu has top market share of 38 per cent for EMR system delivery in major hospitals in Japan.
To avail the advanced technology in medical healthcare, some 80,000 visitors, including doctors, nurses, medical administrators and medical equipment dealers visited the International Modern Hospital Show 2013.
Some 373 exhibitors participated to showcase their modern medical technologies collectively.
